LGS have been participating in a series of workshop about quality standards organised by the National Mentoring Network and funded by the LSC.

This is a critical period for Let's Get Serious; independent evaluations from the University of Manchester, Liverpool University and Birmingham University have all reported positively about the project. We are responding to a flood of enquiries about the project, locally, nationally and internationally. Yet at this moment in time no mainstream core funding has been identified and therefore this innovative, successful project faces closure.

LGS have been invoved in a National Mentoring Network/Learning & Skills Council initiative concerning developing quality in mentoring. LGS are assisting in drawing up a National Quality Assurance Framework for mentoring.

Two of our mentors conducted a very successful presentation at the Trust for the Study of Adolescence in London. We have been inundated by enquiries ever since.

Interim Evaluation and Cost-Benefit Report.
We have just received The University of Manchester's Interim Evaluation and Cost-Benefit Report. Although it is an interim report, it does highlight some significant improvements in life experience and identifies some trends in relation to cost benefits. The University of Manchester have just agreed to undertake an evaluation and cost-benefits analysis of Let's Get Serious. Initial findings should be available by Feb 2003.
